Seva Seva, or Selfless Service is a commonly used term to denote a service which is performed without any expectation of result or award for the person performing it. The idea of selfless service provides the moral backbone of the majority of world religions such as Christianity, Hinduism, and Buddhism. Because God is perceived as residing in the heart of others, serving other people (and in particular helping them to find God by way of a spiritual teacher) is considered an essential devotional practice. Yagnas A Yagna is an ancient Vedic ritual in which offerings are made to a particular deity or the Supreme Being. Fire (Agni) is used as the medium for the offerings because it is believed that any request presented to the divine Agni reaches the ears of the Devas. This fire ceremony is performed to obtain fulfillment of specific desires or the overall welfare of an individual, a group of people or even an entire community. In its present form, Yagna offerings include milk products (ghee or yogurt), fruits, flowers, cloth, grains, candy and money. The chanting of mantras while performing the sacrifices is expected to ensure the welfare of the entire society. Bring blessings to you and your community by sponsoring a Yagna in Ganeshpuri. Support it for a wedding, death, illness, or any special occasion—or simply if you’re feeling the need for increased fortune in your life. You can also sponsor a Yagna for the benefit of another individual. The donor will receive spiritual blessings, spiritual power, clearing of obstacles and long life from the donation. Third Millennium Awakening (TMA) celebrates six yagnas a year in Ganeshpuri. .By sponsoring a Yagna for a minimum of $125, your name and particular request will be included as part of one of these yagnas and you will receive a card from TMA acknowledging your sponsorship. Yagnas may also be sponsored for dates not scheduled for a minimum of $250.
